MGH-BIDMC Harvard

Interventional Pulmonology

Interventional Pulmonary

All fellows will gain exposure to interventional pulmonary through both a dedicated rotation duration first year of fellowship and by participating in needed procedures for patients they are following on the general consult service. Fellows interested in pursuing a career in interventional pulmonology will have the opportunity to work with faculty from the Harvard Combined BIDMC-MGH IP Fellowship. The cutting edge programs at both institutions specialize in complex airways disease management and bronchial thermoplasty, diagnosis and management of complex pleural disease, multidisciplinary lung cancer diagnosis and management and care for patients with advanced lung disease including emphysema and COPD, and patients undergoing lung transplant.

Fellows who wish to pursue further training in IP will additionally participate in clinical research trials and work with a multidisciplinary team at each institution including thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology, lung pathology and thoracic radiology.
